OSS Discovery License & Contributor Agreement
OSS Discovery source code and binaries are licensed under the GNU Affero Public License v3. You can find out more about the license on the FSF website. We picked this license because we wanted to ensure that OSS Discovery remains free and open technology and that any improvements to it are also open source.
OSS Discovery documentation is licensed under the Creative Commons License. You are welcome to use and build upon the OSS Discovery documentation as long as you give credit to all of the contributors.
If you contribute code or documentation to OSS Discovery you must sign the OSS Discovery Contributor Agreement.
The OSS Discovery Contributor Agreement
If you make contributions, and we accept them into our source tree, we want to make sure we have the flexibility to use those contributions under our free software licensing terms, future versions of the open source license and any other terms we may use in the future. Nothing will prevent you from also making your contributions available under any open source licensing terms you choose.
We ask that you allow us this licensing flexibility, so that our intellectual property position does not become too complicated. As a company, we have made a decision to make OSS Discovery an open source project so that it can be as successful as possible. We would like to make sure the copyright and licensing issues are as simple and clear as possible to avoid difficult legal situations in the future. Therefore, if you wish to contribute code, we ask that you do so under our standard contribution agreement, which gives us this flexibility.

How to Sign the Contributor Agreement
In order to contribute to OSS Discovery, we will need to have a copy of your signed Contributor Agreement.
Please print out the Contributor Agreement , fill out all the fields, sign and then either:
- Fax to 720-240-4556, ATTN: OSS Discovery Project, or
- Scan in and email the scanned copy to legal@ossdiscovery.org
We are working on an online click through agreement but in the meantime we appreciate you sending the agreement in via fax or email.
